The news trading rules differ between the Challenge and Funded phases. During the Challenge (evaluation), there are no news trading restrictions — you can open and close positions freely during any news event. Once you are on a Funded account, a 2-minute buffer applies around high-impact news events: you cannot open or close positions, or trigger pending orders, within 2 minutes before or after a scheduled high-impact news release.
Note: if a position was opened before the 2-minute pre-news window, you are permitted to hold it through the event — see the news holding rule below. This funded-phase rule applies to EOD Funded, Sprint Funded, and Instant Funded accounts.
