Should I self-certify as Professional or Non-Professional?

Updated today

Most individual retail traders should select Non-Professional. You qualify as non-professional if you:

  • Are an individual (not a company or institution).

  • Use market data for personal trading only.

  • Are not registered with any securities regulatory body (e.g., SEC, FINRA, NFA).

  • Do not work for a financial services firm that requires registration.

Please note that if you self-certify as a professional, you will be unable to trade with us. Professional market data costs $540 per month β€” despite being the exact same data β€” and is not something we are able to cover.

If you're unsure, review the CME's professional subscriber definition or consult a compliance advisor.
